Metra Project Management Oversight
Supporting Chicagoland’s main commuter rail system with expertise in management, design, and preservation.
JLK is the Stations and Parking Lead for Metra’s Project Management Oversight (PMO) Team. In this role, JLK delivers a wide variety of services to help Metra deliver their capital program for all 242 passenger rail stations throughout northeastern Illinois and southwestern Wisconsin. Services include program management for various projects, architectural design, construction administration, historic preservation architectural design, Section 106 Compliance and review, conditions assessments, and design-build project delivery implementation.
Select Projects include a conditions assessment and feasibility study for the 107th Street-Beverly Station, a full evaluation of the Beverly Branch Line along the Rock Island District, State of Good Repair project review and management, Signage and Display improvements projects review and management, Vertical Transportation Improvements project management for 16 elevators at 11 stations, Section 106 Consultation and Peer Review for various projects including the 59th Street Station along the Metra Electric District.
Metra Stations Accessibility Plan (MSAP): JLK is also the lead consultant within the PMO to develop a program for accesibility improvements projects at 56 Metra stations which are not currently in compliance with the Americans with Disabilites Act (ADA).
